	Old Yankee Stadium - Gate 2 (1928 - 2010)    On 3/31/10, Gate 2 was torn down at the demolition site of Old Yankee Stadium, DESPITE the efforts of a group of fans who ralled to try to have it saved & incorporated into the new parkland that will be built on the land where Old Yankee Stadium has stood since 1923.  She now belongs to the ages.  SHAME on EVERYONE who had a chance to do the right thing & preserve an important piece of NYC & Yankee Stadium history, but allowed it to be razed anyway! I feel terrible for the guys who headed up the "Save Gate 2 Movement", for they did everything they could (& MORE) to try to save Gate 2.  It's a mute point now, but if anyone out there would like to see what their plan was, I encourage you to click on this link: Saving Gate 2.  Posted there was their well laid out plans to preserve Gate 2 & incorporate it into the new baseball field (Heritage Park/Old Yankee Stadium Park) that will be created in the former site of the Old Stadium. You guys gave it your all.  It's really a shame that the deck was stacked against them from the get-go ... but they have nothing to be ashamed of.  It was a GREAT idea.  -Richie
